Abstract: Recently, the control of chaos in piecewise smooth systems has been attracting increasing attention. In the previous study, we proposed a method of stabilizing the unstable periodic orbit in the piecewise smooth system with an ideal switching action. In most practical cases, however, switching events do not behave ideally. In particular, switching delay, large or small, indeed exists and cannot be ignored. So far, there is little work on controlling chaos in such kinds of systems. In this paper, we proposes a method of stabilizing the unstable periodic orbit in a simple circuit with switching delay.
