Abstract: A network coupled with degenerate optical parametric oscillator (DOPO) can be used as a coherent Ising machine (CIM). Since some classes of combinatorial optimization problems can be encoded into the network configuration of DOPOs, a very fast computation is expected. However, the CIM cannot result the optimum solutions always because of bifurcation structure of the system influenced from the symmetry of the network configuration. Especially, it is impossible to avoid trapping into local minima by controlling with a uniform pomp rate. In this paper, we propose a method to suppress local minima by adjusting a pomp rate of the specific DOPO whereas the pump rates of other DOPOs are uniformvalues. This control may break the symmetrical property and the bifurcation structure temporarily and guide the trajectory into the global minima. We show several simulation results.
