Abstract: A simple model of spiking neurons is proposed by Izhikevich. As some experimental results, origin of the mathematical model, firing pattern of all known types of neurons a re reported. However bifurcation analysis has not been investigated in details. In this paper, in order to discuss dynamical properties of this model, we compute bifurcation sets by using bifurcation theory. We clarify non-oscillatory, oscillatory and chaotic regions in the parameter plane.
